Two men in a passionate embrace express love as it is. In depicting two lovers’ lives, the statuette captures the intimacy of one beautiful, transient moment. In the past, portraits of a couple were often hung on their bed, and Luisa offers a contemporary version of the romantic relationship, one which can be just as evanescent or just as long-lived.

Luisa Bělohlávková (* 1996) studies at the Ceramics and Porcelain studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague under the supervision of Milan Pekař. She originally studied furniture design, but was greatly influenced by attending a workshop at Letná where she would go in her free time. She focuses on artistic and applied works which she characteristically paints, oftentimes in patterns reminiscent of folklore motifs. She often finds inspiration in childhood memories, but also motherhood, beauty and everyday scenes.
