Annotation

The Ajeto glassworks in North Bohemia were born out of a passion for artistic experimentation. In 1994 Bořek Šípek, an established designer and architect, Petr Novotný, a master glassmaker, and Libor Fafala, a specialist in technology, came together and made it happen. Ajeto’s impressive portfolio includes made-to-order accessories for Karl Lagerfeld’s stores in Paris, glass objects for the Italian designer brand Driade and the German Rosenthal. Since 2011, the glassmakers at Ajeto have also been producing trophies for the Tour de France cycling race.

About the company

The Ajeto glassworks in Lindava, northern Bohemia, was established in the early 1990s as an alternative to large-scale glassworks. At first, the craftsmen here mainly focused on producing postmodern works by the world-famous Czech designer and architect Bořek Šípek. To this day, the annual symposia which take place there continue to bring together leading designers, such as Dale Chihuly, Marvin Lipofsky and George Sowden. Since 2017, they have come under the Lasvit brand, and produce original glass pieces based on designs by leading international designers such as Daniel Libeskind, Campana Brothers, Nendo and Zaha Hadid.
