Annotation

Designer Tereza Hrušková conceived the project 2841 (Selfie Vases) as a testament to the value of hand-made production, emphasizing its position in the contemporary world. Her hand-paintings on the series of three of vases directly describe and visualize the entire process of creation. The decors show the author creating the mould, pouring the porcelain, retouching the product, and finally hand-painting it. The title 2841 indicates the number of days during which Hrušková was gaining experience with ceramics and porcelain – she started counting since the first hour of preparation up until the date of her under-graduate finals. The 2841 project won the main Franz Rising Star Award in China in 2018 and was part of the British Ceramics Biennial at Stoke-on-Trent in 2019.
