Annotation

As part of his PhD studies, Milan Pekař became interested in effective glazes. He tried to understand the historical underpinnings for the use of glazes, their function and composition, and later followed this theoretical work with his own experimentation. He made hundreds of small test vases. Their installation loosely references the “porcelain rooms” which were an indispensable part of aristocratic mansions at a time when porcelain was a symbol of luxury and wealth.
