“Let me walk and I will find beauty. The Folds II object was produced much like undulating tectonic rock, full of veins, textures and colors, all of which inspired this work. Although the assemblage of various materials and techniques which have been with me these past years did not come together through terrestrial forces like tectonic rock, they did come together as a single, indivisible whole. I am thus uncovering what is hidden under the surface, discovering the underpainting surrounding the object.”

Bio

Eliška Monsportová ( 1996) is a multidisciplinary artist and designer. She graduated from the Glass Studio supervised by Rony Plesl at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, focusing on complex glass cutting methods. She finds her greatest inspiration in the selfless authenticity of nature, landscape, rocks and textures, which she renders in her work by various craft methods. If the rhythm of her work consists in the endless journey through nature, then its chorus is the beauty which lies outside of the ordinary. “I place great emphasis on the complexity of objects and their technical aspects. Thev process is a very important part of my development. Mostly because I enjoy observing the transformation of materials, forms and visuals. And I also love the satisfaction of working with my hands.”*
